LISA T. DAMICO
ATTORNEY
When you face serious court matters, you deserve serious representation and personal attention from a law firm that is recognized for superior experience and results.
Biography
Lisa graduated magna cum laude from Elmhurst College in 1998. She graduated from the John Marshall Law School in 2001. At John Marshall, Lisa was selected four times to represent the school in mock trial competitions (a school record): American Trial Lawyers Association (twice); American Bar Association; and Tournament of Champions. In 1998, Lisa’s trial tem in the American Trial Lawyers Association competition won the regional championship and qualified for the nation competition in Florida (where her team beat Harvard.) From time to time, Lisa has returned to help other students in competitions. While in law school, Lisa worked for the Administrative Office of the Illinois Supreme Court.
Lisa has spent her entire professional life as a trial attorney and litigator.
During and after law school, Lisa worked for Genson & Gillespie, trying cases for several years with nationally renowned criminal defense attorney, Edward M. Genson. She honed her trial skills working side-by- side with Genson on numerous high-profile cases. Genson was immediately impressed with Lisa’s work: “I first met Lisa when she was still in law school. She wanted to learn everything and was constantly bugging me – – in a good way. Her hard work paid off. She is a skilled lawyer and a tenacious and formidable opponent.” Lisa has collaborated on jury trials with other highly regarded practitioners in Illinois as well. She is universally respected for her knowledge and work ethic. Her instincts to recognize important issues; her drive to dig for answers; and her intelligence to find and communicate them mark her as a superior lawyer.
In April 2005, Lisa left Genson & Gillespie and formed her own practice. Lisa continues to represent clients in serious criminal matters, including many successful murder jury trials. She still collaborates with highly regarded practitioners on complicated jury trials. Lisa’s goal as a criminal defense attorney is to be aggressive and tenacious when fighting to protect her client’s rights to obtain the best possible result.
In 2010 Lisa expanded the practice areas of her firm. She also represents clients in matrimonial, family and parentage cases. While handling these cases, the end goal for Lisa is still the best possible result, however her approach may be different. Lisa knows divorce and custody cases are complicated. Parties are impacted financially and emotionally. Often times, the effects of these cases are far reaching beyond the parties and their children to extended family members and friends. Lisa strives to ease the anxiety and turmoil of divorce, relationship break-ups, and custody and property battles by being strong yet approachable, while determined yet respectful and cooperative.
